About SnowBlo
Snow falls overnight. By 6am a few hundred people in the basin need a driveway cleared before work, and a few dozen businesses with trucks and blowers are deciding where to drive. Those two groups mostly find each other through luck, a neighbour’s recommendation, or a number on a flyer from three winters ago.
SnowBlo is a board where that work gets posted and claimed. You say what needs clearing and what you’ll pay. Local snow removal businesses see it and take the jobs that fit their route. Then the two of you sort out the details directly.
What we deliberately don’t do
We don’t set prices. The person who owns the driveway decides what it’s worth, and the business decides whether to take it. Nobody is squeezed by an algorithm in the middle.
We don’t assign work. No dispatch, no acceptance scores, no penalty for turning something down. A plow operator with a full route should be able to ignore us entirely that day.
We don’t take a cut of what anyone earns. Businesses pay a flat fee to claim a job, set by the size of the job and shown before they claim — never a share of what they get paid. What the customer pays for the work is entirely theirs.
And we don’t clear snow. Every business here is independent, uses its own equipment, and runs on its own terms. That’s not a technicality — it’s the whole arrangement, and it’s why somebody with one truck can use this without becoming anyone’s employee.
Where we are
The Tahoe basin, starting with the 2026–27 season. Snow work is local — it only works if there are enough businesses nearby to claim what gets posted. So we’d rather be genuinely useful in one basin than thin across a dozen.
Snowblo LLC is a California company. If you’re somewhere else and want this, tell us where — that’s how we’ll pick what’s next.
